West Berkshire Green Party is excited to have Paul Field standing as its parliamentary candidate once again in this year’s general election.

Paul said, “I am delighted to be standing as the Green Party candidate in Newbury again. I believe we should be proudly sharing our message of hope, fairness and environmental responsibility with the people of Newbury. It is vital that we have a candidate prepared to vigorously challenge the policies of the other parties as well as offering a clear vision of a truly different kind of politics, based around electoral reform and honest behaviour.

“This election is about much more than just Brexit and it is our responsibility to ensure that the important issues of NHS privatisation, educational catastrophe, the housing crisis and economic inequality, among many other areas, are part of the debate. It is important that we lead the debate on the impact of Brexit on the environment, health and food safety and human rights. It is also vital that we offer a positive vision of a better Britain, with a global position we can be proud to pass on to future generations.”

In 2015 Paul got more votes than all previous Green general election candidates for Newbury added together.

We will also be standing in the Thatcham South and Crookham ward local elections. There is a vacancy on the West Berkshire Council and a vacancy on the Thatcham Town Council and we will be standing candidates for both.
